Teknisk Fastighetsservice in Bollnäs Chose EvoAir A30T EPP G3 from Acetec

On a sunny winter day in February, Acetec visits the community of Bollnäs to learn more about an interesting project carried out by Teknisk Fastighetsservice (tfservice), a technical property service company in Bollnäs. On-site, we meet project manager Mikael Jönsson, who shows us how they have modernized the ventilation in one of Bollnäs Bostäder's properties.

In the project, 30 older ventilation units with cross-flow heat exchangers from the early 80s were replaced with modern air handling ventilation units with heat recovery from Acetec, complete with a kitchen hood. The choice fell on EvoAir A30T EPP G3 White, combined with the Monolit 600mm kitchen hood in white.

After a brief introduction, we enter one of the apartments where the new unit is installed above the kitchen hood.

Significant Difference for the Residents

How have the apartment residents experienced the change? According to Mikael Jönsson, the difference was noticeable right away.

"Shortly after the installer connected and adjusted the air handling units, the residents noticed a significant improvement. The indoor climate has improved, and the air quality is perceived as much better. Additionally, the noise level is significantly lower, which is crucial in home environments."

The air handling units with heat recovery are also more energy-efficient compared to the previous cross-flow heat exchangers. Mikael adds:

"Between 80 and 90% of the heat is recovered from the exhaust air, which can contribute to lower heating costs."

Why Acetec?

Several factors influenced Teknisk Fastighetsservice's choice of a new ventilation unit.

"It is always exciting to test new products, especially when they come from a Swedish company that develops, manufactures, and ensures quality locally in Sweden," says Mikael.

He highlights EvoAir A30T’s compact design as a major advantage in this project.

"When replacing cross-flow heat exchangers with rotary heat exchangers, ducts need to be crossed. In such cases, having a low-profile unit is beneficial as it makes installation smoother. Additionally, the components are easily accessible. The circuit board is housed in a small box between the unit and the kitchen hood, which both protects it and makes access easier."

Another advantage is the low weight.

"EvoAir A30T is constructed from EPP, a very lightweight material, making the unit weigh only 25 kg. This makes it easy to install alone without needing two people."

Delivered Complete with a Reversible Design

Acetec delivers the units fully equipped for easy commissioning.

"Everything needed for installation is included, including a user-friendly control unit. EvoAir A30T also features an internal post-heating coil," Mikael explains.

He also mentions a benefit of Acetec’s top-connected air handling units with heat recovery: "They are reversible, unlike many others on the market. Typically, you have to order units in either right- or left-hand configurations, but EvoAir A30T has access panels on both sides, so it can be installed from any direction. This makes it easier for the installer and reduces the risk of incorrect orders."

We thank Mikael Jönsson and Teknisk Fastighetsservice in Bollnäs for sharing their experiences. We look forward to more successful collaborations in the future!
